Volunteer: Helping Hands for The Urban FarmBe an everyday hero and help us sow seeds of change and ensure our farm stays beautiful, efficient, and welcoming. From planting to harvesting to keeping pathways clear and beds weed-free, your hands will create an oasis in the middle of a food desert. Whether you're a seasoned pro or just starting out, there's something for everyone to learn and contribute! Ages 8 and up Our Urban Farm is located at 702 Fenwick St, Augusta, GA, next door to The Master's Table Soup Kitchen, near The James Brown Arena. When you arrive: 1. Drive up to the main entrance gate and press the button on the call box. A staff member inside will remotely open the gate for you. 2. Park your car in one of the designated volunteer parking spaces. The entrance to the Urban Farm is to the right of The Master's Table Soup Kitchen, down the sidewalk. Attire: Get ready to get down and dirty! Wear comfortable shoes or boots suitable for gardening, and don't forget your essentials for working outdoors - think bug spray, a hat, sunscreen, gardening or work gloves, and a trusty water bottle to keep you hydrated. This opportunity is physically demanding. While gardening is therapeutic, it can also be quite the workout! Be prepared to flex those muscles and lift at least 50 pounds during our gardening sessions. For more information on the volunteering at The Urban Farm, view The Urban Farm Volunteer Manual ***When you sign up for volunteer shifts at the Urban Farm, you’ll automatically be added to our Urban Farm email list. We use this list to share important updates, volunteer information, and occasional news about what’s growing at the farm.***Program: Urban Farm Be an everyday hero and help us sow seeds of change and ensure our farm stays beautiful, efficient, and welcoming.
