Who We Are
Nestled in the heart of a food desert, our urban farm is more than just a garden— it’s a place where fresh produce transforms lives by feeding neighbors today through our soup kitchen and local food pantries.
Whether you're a seasoned gardener, a family looking for a meaningful week day or weekend activity, or someone passionate about serving others, our farm offers a place for everyone. You’ll be part of a team of everyday heroes who dig in, plant hope, and grow change for a healthier hunger-free tomorrow.
What We Do
Our Urban Farm is located at 702 Fenwick St, Augusta, GA, directly across the street from The James Brown Arena.
When you arrive:
1. Drive up to the main entrance gate and press the button on the call box. A staff member inside will remotely open the gate for you.
2. Park your car in one of the designated volunteer parking spaces.
Getting to the farm entrance:
· Stand facing The Master’s Table Soup Kitchen building.
· The entrance to the Urban Farm is to the right of the volunteer door, down the sidewalk.
Attire: Get ready to get down and dirty! Wear comfortable shoes or boots suitable for gardening, and don't forget your essentials for working outdoors - think bug spray, a hat, sunscreen, gardening or work gloves, and a trusty water bottle to keep you hydrated.
Who Can Join: We welcome volunteers aged 8 and above to join our gardening adventures. Whether you're a seasoned pro or just starting out, there's something for everyone to learn and contribute!
What to Expect: Get ready for a hands-on experience that's as rewarding as it is educational. From mulching to weeding, planting to harvesting vegetables, and even getting down and dirty with composting, there's a whole world of gardening tasks waiting for you. And yes, you might break a sweat, so dress in casual clothes that you don't mind getting a little grubby.
Strength Required: While gardening is therapeutic, it can also be quite the workout! Be prepared to flex those muscles and lift at least 50 pounds during our gardening sessions.
Join us for a day of fun, learning, and making a difference in our community through the power of urban farming. We can't wait to see you at the farm!
